My feedback on the music video

DVD cover feedback
The response from my techno audience I received was to add in my strap line which was on my advertisement to the actual DVD cover so it targets the audience of the techno genre as many were drawn into the strap line and found it helped them to make a final impression on the product. The font I used for the play list details should match the font I used throughout and I should enlarge the word ‘play list’ as this was important information. I was suggested to swap the artist name with the DVD name (leaving the DVD name at the top of the DVD).
Magazine advertisement feedback
I overall had a great response from the target audience however many comments were made for me to add on to my advertisement the image of the DVD covers so its more noticeable what is on sale. The other comment I received was to move one of the characters (alien) more upwards so the border don’t look like it includes the aliens space ship and is more identifiable for what it is.

I will be using the flash action script (3.0) software to do my animation. The concept of the animation is there’s no subtitles and the idea will be purely not reality but fantasy almost like a game, linking back to the research of the techno genre audience majority having a hobbies of computer games (also the song comes from a background of gaming). Its simple not complicated there’s three unrealistic characters in this animation video a robot, alien and a space ghost monster.

Decision of the song
I have chosen DJ Bouches remix version of the Super Mario Brothers theme tune, this songs genre is Techno and video game music. This song genre has no video examples nor does this song have any lyrics. As this song does not have a video my decision of the video process for the song will not be influenced therefore my ideas will be fresh and will complement the song by making the video. The reason for the choice of song was down to my research which showed the techno audience is young and answered playing video game as their hobbies, therefore this song is a techno remix of a classic computer game theme tune. My video will use animation as it links with theme of gaming.
Feedback on music video questionnaire
The feedback I have taken into account is the people who answered ‘Techno’ in the second question ‘what type of music videos do you watch more than others’ as this is the audience I will be aiming my music video at. The feedback shows me in order for my target audience to watch the music video I will be creating; it would have to be creative and unique. The audience show a very high interest in computer games, which gives me a option of using animation in my video.

It is very clear the audience wants to see something bright and least focused on the song artist. This would be difficult to present in order to attract my audience which finds advertisements to be persuasive as shown in the bar chart research. I will show the feedback of the chosen elements on my flat plan of the advertisement. All the questions have been answered by the Techno audience who I will be aiming this whole project at.

Rnb
R&B, or rhythm and blues, is a musical term that has changed drastically in meaning since it was coined by Atlantic Records executive Jerry Wexler in 1948 as a substitute for the term "race records." In a historical sense, R&B represents the point at which black music began to slowly mutate into rock and roll. In a modern sense, R&B is a genre of smooth pop music that is entirely centered on the vocalist. Rnb music has changed and wont sound as 'jazz' like it use to and influenced by pop, whereas hip hop which is closely related to Rnb has some jazz elements for example Jay Z recent song (cannot remember the exact song) he has used a saxophone playing in the back of the song which has element of jazz. The target audience of Rnb be is mainly young teenagers to late 20's this is because a lot of Rnb songs are very slow and to do with love around this age is often where relationship's and break ups happen, the reason why it is not targeted mainly at people in their 30's or onwards is because they often are settled down and are not as delusional as teens or people in their 20's. The gender can be boys and girls equally as the songs invovle either boy singing about girl or girl singing about boy. Pop music is the abbreviation of popular music.Pop music is an ample and imprecise category of modern music not defined by artistic considerations but by its potential audience or prospective market. Pop is music composed with deliberate intent to appeal to the majority of its contemporaries.In opposition to music that requires education or formation to appreciate, a defining characteristic of pop music is that anyone is able to enjoy it. Artistic concepts such as complex musical form and aesthetics are not a concern in the writing of pop songs, the primary objectives being audience enjoyment and commercial success.

Generally it is a wide genre which influences many genres and has the rock and roll approach however it is different to rock ie heavy metal is completely different but associated with the rock genre. The gender its mainly aimed at is girls, boys would likey to listen listen to rock pop but not pop itself. The characterisitcs of pop are funky and energetic therefore the target audience is likely to be younger children to teens which fits their charteristic. Pop is an younger version of music compared to mature Rnb without the jazz and blues and of course the element of black music.

Video game music
Many games for the Nintendo Entertainment System and other early game consoles feature a similar style of musical composition that is sometimes described as the "video game genre." Some aspects of this style continue to influence certain music today, though gamers do not associate many modern game soundtracks with the older style. The genre's compositional elements may have developed due to technological restraints, and may also have been influenced by techno pop bands such as Yellow Magic Orchestra, which were quite popular during the period. Features of the genre include:
-Pieces designed to repeat indefinitely rather than having an arranged ending or fading out.
-Pieces lacking lyrics and playing over gameplay sounds.

Traditional Bhangra is a fusion of music, singing and the beat of the dhol drum, a single-stringed instrument called the iktar (ektara), the tumbi and the chimta. The accompanying songs are small couplets written in the Punjabi language called bolis. They relate to current issues faced by the singers and (dil the gal) what they truly want to say. Its gender can be girls or boys, giurls because of the glamour of bollywood or boys because of the film but both genders are aimed at, the age range is all from young to old as most of the soundtrack in a Bollywood film are for all ages even if film is certificated to a certain age group. this vidoe is example as it shows alot of boollywood elements of glits and galmour the filmi element, girls and boys in the film and the aproach of going for a werstern look.

This genre has influence of bhangra and bollywood sounds but fused with the western sounds of either hip hop, rnb or club etc. This sort of genre is aimed at girls and boys however unlike other Asian genres the age group of these are for teens of any age to people up to thier late 20's, the difference about this genre compared to most is that its aimed at others who listen to RnB or another genre which has nothing to do with Bhangrah or Bollywood by having fused thoese element of either poeple in the video or instrument.. Music videos are important to marketing
Music videos are used as a marketing technique to promote the producers and singers. There are two independent ways to view music videos this is by TV (music channels such as 4music and MTV especially dedicated for this service and a new service introduced is music on demand) and internet by going on to websites such as Youtube, yahoo, msn music and Aol music etc. Another technique used to promote producers and singers is by advertisement in magazines, newspapers and billboards etc, but this technique is powerful in it own way as there are differences between production methods used with print production and video.

The music on demand service shows all updates on the TV of new release of music videos from all genes such as pop, rock, electro, Bhangrah etc. Having a music service on virgin medias on demand service is helping promote music videos more as this is a new way forward of watching music video in comfort and browsing music videos in HD, big screen and surround sound quality (killing two birds with one stone) latest figures show virgin on demand services viewing figures have went up to 50% rise.

It’s more easier and simple to access music videos, therefore its important to make a good piece of a music video. Every music scene gives out awards for the best video, emphasising my point how important music videos are to be nominated to promote the producers and singers. Viewers are the ones who make the judgement of the best music video by casting their votes in a system (what ever is suitable with the music ceremony holders). These ceremonies help give recognition to music videos chosen by public which impact the promoters and they goal is achieved.
